Greasin up the SHS stage

Over the past several months, students of SHS have been working hard to put together this year’s musical, “Grease,” which was directed by Marva Craft.

The play is set during the 1950s and depicts the lives and struggles teenagers faced. The young actors and actresses hard work finally paid off after hours and hours of late nights and gallons of make up (only a slight exaggeration) in the Sue Henry Auditorium March 5-9 as they performed for the community.

“It went pretty good” says senior Trace Addlesperger who played Danny. “It was my first time on stage as an actor, and I enjoyed hanging out and acting alongside old and new friends. It was a great experience.”

Also during the play were several fundraisers to benefit different clubs. FBLA raised about $340, and the silent auction put on by student council and school principal Dirlene Wheeler raised over $2000. The funds will be distributed to clubs that are in need of financial help.

If you missed this year’s musical, don’t worry, there will be another one next year. The SHS Drama also puts on a fall play, so the next time one is coming up, support your fellow students and come to an enjoyable evening that you will not forget.
