On Friday, Sept. 28 students and community members alike filled the stands at Homer Scott Field to support the SHS Broncs. The color sported by most fans was not the traditional blue and gold, but pink. Shirts designed by the first period marketing class were sold the week before the game to students and community members to raise money for a donation to the Welch Cancer Center.
The 2012 Pink Bronc Day proved to be the most successful to date, with the marketing class selling over 700 shirts around the school and community. A total of $3846.50 was raised, out selling both of the last two years combined. On top of shirt sales, a fellow SHS student, Jaime Reece, held a walk for cancer during halftime at the football game. The walk raised an extra $300 for the Welch Cancer Center.
In total, SHS has raised approximately $6000 in the last three years for the Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation.
