Rise in new students from Big Horn and Tongue River at SHS
This year, Sheridan High School has 64 new, incoming students. Roughly 25% have come from either Big Horn or Tongue River.
When interviewed, most of these students said they were drawn here by the advantages of a bigger school, such as more students, more classes, and bigger sports teams. “I came from Tongue River because Sheridan has more opportunities” said senior Owen Bensel. He added “Having a bigger variety of people is good, too.”
Some students also suggested that SHS is a more positive environment for students. “People at Sheridan have more energy and school spirit,” said junior Nick Sami.
SHS also has three exchange students from Ukraine, Mexico, and the Czech Republic.
