Over the weekend the cross country team went to Loveland and did well.
“The team really stepped it up at this meet” said Michael Rotellini, “Marissa Hegy, Chris Garber, Janika Sweeney, and the whole team really did well.” The team has been improving all throughout the season and the teams gap time has lowered immensely. The gap time is the time between the player who takes first place and the person who takes fifth place. The team has lowered this through continuous hard work.
The varsity team has a week off and will have no meet this Friday. The JV on the other hand will have a meet in Buffalo Friday and will look to improve before both teams head down to Laramie to play a conference meet. It will be a good opportunity for the team to play some rival teams such as Gillette, Cheyenne East, and Laramie.
The cross country team did well over the weekend with the boys team taking third and the girls taking fourth in the Billings Invitational Cross Country Meet last Saturday.
Michael Rotellini took first place in the boys division, a win he had been looking forward to ever since he started going to the meet in Billings. Kyle Dietsche also did well by placing eighth. The meet included lots of tough competition from a wide variety of schools from both Wyoming and Montana. Having two runners place in the top ten was a big boost to the team and a great success.
As for the girl’s team, they performed well in the tournament.“The team did good and we are improving every day,” said sophomore Gabby Edeen, who is a first year runner. Junior Katie Rotellini finished twenty-second and first for the team. She was followed by her teammates seniors Addy Ostler, Alex Vaira, and Edeen who all did well placing not far behind Rotellini. “The girls team works really hard at practice and looks forward to showing what they can do in upcoming meets,” said Rotellini
