Coming back from the regional tennis tournament, both the girls and boys teams are very optimistic about state. The girl’s team placed fourth and the boy’s team placed third. “It was the first time we have gotten third at regionals,” said senior Malik Grant, “we were all very happy about that.”
Both teams are optimistic for state and are hoping to get into the top three. “The girls have a really strong team ,” Grant said “ and so do we.” The girl’s team is lead by freshman Julia Fenn, who won the regional tournament last weekend. “I hope state goes as well as regionals,” said Fenn, “it would be really cool to see our team at the top.”
“It’s my last tournament and I’m going to miss the team,” said Grant, “but they have some really talented athletes returning next year.”
The tennis team goes to the state tournament this weekend in Gillette.
