The Lady Broncs ended their season with a win at state over Natrona. “We worked together really well and knew each other so that definitely helped out the team,” said senior Hailey Ligocki. “It is hard to give up a this great family that I have had for the last four years.”
After beating the Lady Camels to win their conference, the Lady Broncs set their sights higher and defeated the Lady Camels in Gillette for the Regional Championship, 54-38. “ We have eaten two-thirds of the pie and we are looking for that last piece at state,” said junior Maddy McClure. The Lady Broncs lost their third game of the season on Friday at State to the Lady T-Birds from Cheyenne East. The Lady Broncs came out shooting on Saturday to beat the only 4A team that they had not beaten this year, Natrona. The Lady Broncs ended their season on a high note, taking third at state, and beating every 4A team in the state. Head Coach Sean Yeager was very pleased with the Lady Broncs and their accomplishments. “ They played really well and hard. Their effort was great ending up with 24-3.”
According to most this year’s players, the Lady Broncs were more than just a girl’s basketball team. They were a family who worked their hearts out and overcame many obstacles. They were a team that will always remember each other and will always be remembered by others. “This year was the best family that I have been apart of,” said sophomore Emily Julian. “It is nice to show up to practice and bus trips and be loved by so many people.” Senior team manager Rachel Wood explained, “They got along really well which made it a stronger team altogether. They had fantastic games and great relationships.”
