Tennis faces tough weather in weekend matches
Last weekend the Broncs faced some tough conditions as the weather played it’s toll. After playing Gillette on thursday, they travelled to Cheyenne to be rained out of their games against East, however that evening the team was able to play Central.
The following day the teams faced Laramie where elevation played a factor on the games. Senior Reed Ritterbusch said “The ball flies longer and the ball bounces higher in Laramie because of the elevation” in regarding how playing in Laramie of more difficult. “The conditioning is also different because it is harder to breath” said Ritterbusch.
After the weekend in the southern parts of the state, the Broncs returned to play Kelly Walsh on their home turf.
The girls team lost a lot of seniors last year, but sophomore Kateylnn Brooks says “the chemistry of the team has been really good as the team has grown very close.” The girls also have an eight year streak of placing second or better and the goal is to achieve either first or second.
