The Sheridan Broncs started their season off with a statement victory over Cheyene South scoring 79 points in the home opener at Homer Scott Field. After another successful year winning their third straight football title, the Broncs came out firing on all cylinders putting up 42 points in the first quarter alone.
The Broncs scored eight touchdowns on offense and ran a punt back for a score. The defense was providing great support by delivering two safeties, a fumble recovery in the end zone, and a pick six on the final play to seal the deal.
As a result of this win the Broncs are now only two wins away from setting the state record for wins in a row. The Broncs now have to hit the road for their next two games already, beating Thunder Basin 28-0 on Sept. 6, then having to face Natrona County on Sept. 13, before heading back to play Cheyenne East at home on Sept. 20.
